Congratulations Grosser and Steigerwald!

by Andy Warner on December 13, 2008

I want to congratulate a couple of former players I coached, Chris Grosser and Brodie Steigerwald.

Chris recently received Defensive Player of the Year awards from the Northern Kentucky High School Coaches Association and Brodie received 1st team Honors.

I must admit that I did not want Chris as my goalkeeper originally. I chose to keep him as my backup keeper after tryouts over 5 years ago. Through the course of time, Chris polished his skills and became one of the best keepers I have been fortunate to train.

He has also become one of the most distinguished young men I have been fortunate to interact with. Chris’s parents definitely raised him right (except for his Shirley Temple haircut).

I wish you all the best with your future playing career.

Also, Brodie Steigerwald, a fellow Warner Academy student received 1st team honors as a midfielder. Brodie (aka Bones) is a gifted player. His technical ability to top shelf and his mind for the game is something I wish I had. Brodie has one more year left in high school and the top schools are reaching out for him. Keep your grades up Brodie and you could go anywhere. Make your parents proud, Bones!

Congratulations Chris and Brodie!
