Help your children win

by Andy Warner on April 22, 2011

The world is cruel enough.  As our children grow they learn how cruel and unforgiving the world is.

Numerous studies reveal that children encouraged at young ages to think creatively and challenge societal norms, live far more productive lives than children taught memorization and how to color within the lines.

Open your eyes to teachable and self-esteem building episodes to encourage your children and foster growth.

Our world will be a better place… and our galaxy needs heroes.

I’m reminded of Matthew Ebel’s “Every Color”.

The first verse goes like this:

I was color-blind and stranded
in monochrome debris.
I thought that all that I was handed
was all there was to see.
All I have is just this pencil,
this sorry stick of gray
and I’ve been living in this stencil,
but I’m breaking out today.
