Two major pregnancies have hit the airwaves this past month.
For those of you under a rock let me briefly recap the two.
The first one is a single mother of 6 children that gave birth to octuplets with the assistance of in vitro fertilization. The second one is a teenage girl giving birth to a child. The father is 13 and the mother is 15.
Take a breath and read those two headlines again if you need to.
That’s right…you read them correctly.
Now, my question to you is: Where are the men?
Scenario 1 the young lady has no idea due to in vitro… Or does she? Also, why did she do it?
Scenario 2 how were the children permitted to do such things and why would they want to do such things?
Both cases are definitely mind-blowing. Both cases cause concern. Both cases leave me thinking… Where are the men?
Both cases provide limited insight to the father(s) of the octuplets or the fathers of the teenage children. Why? Have the fathers given up? Have the fathers hid? Have the fathers decided to forsake their role and position? Fathers stand up and help correct the ship.
Make no mistake. I am not blaming the fathers for their lack of voice in these cases. I know that the media has somewhat directed the ship in these stories and steered the voices being heard. “Octomom” has not referenced the father publicly, but did state the father was notified. The father has not made a statement, but octomom’s father did (thanks Oprah!) The grandfather of the teenage children decided to sell his son’s story. Yikes! Where do we go from here when grandfather decides to sell his teenage child’s pregnancy for money? The father has decided to stand-up. Let’s make sure he is supported.
Fathers, stand up and be counted. Correct the ship now.

Love the article. Great subject. As a dad and a loyal reader of the site I would officially like to respond to the call to stand up!!!
