How’s it hangin’?!
I’m currently on a mini vacation of sorts in Atlanta, Georgia. I’m checking out the sights if you will.
Besides the sistas, one thing stood out to me a lot down here. There’s a particular color that a lot of dudes wear down here that I don’t see a lot of in Cincinnati. I’ve been really fond of this color… I rock it on occasion but not too many brothas will. If you haven’t figured it out, the color I’m referring to is P-I-N-K.

A lot of brothas are wearing pink and wearing it proudly.
Now, I recognize that I’m in the A and a lot of brothas down here swing a different way and that’s cool… but the color is very popular in the mainstream.
Pink shirts, ties and even some of the “Country Playas” are rocking pink suits. Now, I wouldn’t touch the suit with a yard stick, but pink shirts, ties and sweaters are very fashionable.
But how does one wear pink?
I’ve worn a pink shirt underneath a black, gray, beige or navy blue suit. I’ve work a pink tie under a brown v-neck sweater with a blue shirt and jeans for the casual look. One can even replace the jeans with slacks or khakis for the happy hour or business casual look.
Lastly fellas, ladies admire a brotha who rocks pink and rocks it with confidence. Wearing pink is not a statement of femininity, but a statement of confidence, and, if one can pull it off–cockiness. I pull it off all the time. I actually like pink. Now, don’t get me wrong, I don’t rock the loud pink. The pink shirts and ties I rock are bold and “strong” pinks (if there is such a thing).
I’m about swag and what makes us different. I would emplore brothas not to rock pink pants or suits. You might be perceived differently or in a light that one might not want shined on them. But then again, do you!
