I have purposefully not updated my blog for the past couple months because I was working through a career transition. Well, the transition is no longer.
In July 2010, I accepted a position with the Tonkin Family of Dealerships in Portland, Oregon. For those of you unfamiliar with this dealer group, the Tonkin group is comprised of 16 dealerships–like Audi Wilsonville, Gran Turismo, Gresham Honda, MotoCorsa, Ron Tonkin Acura, Ron Tonkin Chevrolet, Tonkin Wilsonville Nissan–and multiple automotive companies like Cascade Accessories and Dealer Equity Group. Currently, Ed Tonkin is the chairman of the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA). Ron, the founder of the company and father to Ed, was the National Automobile Dealers Association chairman in 1989.
The position I accepted is Ecommerce Director. My goal is to improve the online marketing of the Tonkin organization. I will be responsible for directing the online strategy and marketing for the dealerships and supplemental companies.
I am very grateful to the Tonkins for offering this position to me. The Tonkin name is very respected in the automotive industry and I look to further that reputation. The Tonkins have been wonderful people and I will do my best not to disappoint. There is definitely plenty of opportunity to improve the automotive online marketing space with the Tonkin organization, the Portland market, the Pacific Northwest and the national automotive space and I look forward to leading this change.
Stay tuned, there is a change coming to Portland, Oregon.

Yay!
Cincinnati’s loss is certainly Portland’s gain. We’ll definitely miss you. Thankfully we can keep in touch online!
Thank you for the kind words. You will be missed as well kind sir. The character conversations, career ideas, projects and lunches. You were definitely a light to find in a sometimes bleak area. Keep in touch and I will do the same.
Shameless self promotion?
I LOVE it!
If I do not believe in myself… Who will?
